I really want to go skiing this winter but I have no clue where to start or what to do. Could you give me some tips on skis and gear etc? I live in Utah so if you know of any good places let me know. I am a total beginner. Thanks!!
I am about 5′6″. What size skis would be best. From what I know 160 cm is okay? Any tips or help is great!

I’m an advanced mogul skier and in my teens. I plan on really improving my bump skiing this year but there’s one thing I’ve always got in the back of my head and that’s the fact that this sport is extremely hard on your knees, something not easily replaced/fixed. I’m wondering how I can help strengthen my knees and also how to properly prepare my knees and my body for a day of skiing bumps. Does anyone know of any techniques that would benefit the knees so they are somewhat prepared for this abuse? lol

How much exercise do you really get downhill skiing? We ski for about 3 hrs at a time. I don’t think it’s much (all that lift-riding), but my husband disagrees. My legs feel exercised, but I don’t think I get much cardio benefit? Opinions?

I go skiing often and when I ski, I usally wear a hoody and a down vest. However, when it snows the hoody absorbs the snow and it gets wet. I have been considering buying a cold gear shirt from underarmour but, I also want to buy something to wear on top that will be waterproof. Is there something I can wear under my vest that is thin and waterproof and would match well. If you have any advice, that’ll be great. Thanks~!
